color vrs b&w

When I like a photo... really love a photo, I can't help but have one in color & one in b&w.

I am such a sucker for b&w's, especially lately.

BUT nothing beats seeing the ever changing color of my little boys baby blues.

We have a big field of wild flowers down our country road,

where we usually stop to play on our daily walks. 

(aka where mommy's secret "mission take a million Jaxy pictures" occurs)

Hi friends.

Our dear dear neighbor/GOOD friend, chuck, passed away from Leukemia.

He is, at least, no longer suffering & as Jaxy says... up in the happy clouds w/ "Jezooz".

We're all taking this a little harder than I thought we would. 

I thought we knew it was coming, & had a little time to process, we wouldn't be SO heart broken.

WRONG-O.

AT LEAST.... I have this happy happy boy, to make his mama smile.

P/S This last week I've been working on, getting good photos, even under not perfect circumstances.

Example: The above shots, under extreme harsh sunshine... which we all know = those ugly harsh shadows.

If you can find a little shade great, but if not, don't let that keep you from capturing those special moments!

Lol... sometimes I have to remind my self... this is my son... I'm not doing a session! Dur.

1st un-official/official Jax photo shoot~ {take one}

Did I confuse you guys enough?!

My 1st un-official/official Jaxy shoot...?

Well, I just meant that I "sort of" planned this little experience photo shoot of my favorite lil guy.

I finally have my slr, & one CUTE little subject to photo!

Plus, he (my 3 year old) kind of listened to mommy's instructions...

(Lol... basically that just means I was able to get him to not run the other direction, for about 3 minutes!)

my secret tip... I was asking him these CRAZY questions that he REALLY had to think hard about!

Example: "Jaxy, if you were an elephant... would you want to wear polka dot swim trunks, blue trunks w/ pink flowers... OR a great red pair of red Toms shoes?!"

HAhaaa... I'm a big meanie. BUT... it sort of worked, & he thought my questions were quite amusing!

(Hey, I'll do just about anything to get a good picture, especially of my little monkey!)

( Lol. Pretty sure this was the "elephant" question. Hmmm?!)

Ahhh... this was the MOST fun.

Besides being a mommy, Photography is no doubt my passion.

I can't wait to see where this journey takes me!

Just another "normal" day,

"i love you, mommmm," says Jax.

Those 3 words Jax has probably heard 5 billion times.

He has told us a thousand times before he loves us....

-with that sweet look that says "i LOVE u," w/ no words at all.

-a hug for no reason.

-every morning laying his head on my shoulder,  softly playing with my hair

 -looking out the window longing for daddy, to come home from work

-the pure joy & excitement in those big eyes, only daddy walking through the door can bring

-how he truly cares if mama gets an owie.

-how he thinks mommy & daddy are the 2 coolest peeps in the world

(Besides Lightning Mqueene, of course)

So.... Jax talks a lot, but has never fully said I love you.

Last Saturday afternoon before nap, we got a "Christmas present" surprise!

We always tuck him in for nappy together on the weekends.

We have our usual kissy & huggy routine, both from mama & daddy.

say LOVE you the most, Bubbalou. (1 of our many Jaxy nicknames)

& it's nap time (yay)

Then, out of nowhere...

The sweetest voice says, 

"love you, dad."

......."love you, mommmm."

(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Well it was more like...

"I wuv YOU, DaD" 

"I wuv youeee, mommm"

Not gonna lie, got a little happy/teary eyed.

I can neither confirm nor deny, daddy did to?

REALLY good stuff.
