Those 3 words Jax has probably heard 5 billion times.

He has told us a thousand times before he loves us....

-with that sweet look that says "i LOVE u," w/ no words at all.

-a hug for no reason.

-every morning laying his head on my shoulder,  softly playing with my hair

 -looking out the window longing for daddy, to come home from work

-the pure joy & excitement in those big eyes, only daddy walking through the door can bring

-how he truly cares if mama gets an owie.

-how he thinks mommy & daddy are the 2 coolest peeps in the world

(Besides Lightning Mqueene, of course)

So.... Jax talks a lot, but has never fully said I love you.

Last Saturday afternoon before nap, we got a "Christmas present" surprise!

We always tuck him in for nappy together on the weekends.

We have our usual kissy & huggy routine, both from mama & daddy.

say LOVE you the most, Bubbalou. (1 of our many Jaxy nicknames)

& it's nap time (yay)

Then, out of nowhere...

The sweetest voice says, 

"love you, dad."

......."love you, mommmm."

(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Well it was more like...

"I wuv YOU, DaD" 

"I wuv youeee, mommm"

Not gonna lie, got a little happy/teary eyed.

I can neither confirm nor deny, daddy did to?

REALLY good stuff.

Jax has been Mr Independent lately.

It is very cute, But OMGosh does he even need his mommy anymore?!

Lol. I think yes.

I have a wonderful little kitchen helper, every morning as we make breakfast.

He likes to get whatever we need out of the pantry & the refrigerator.

Yesterday I asked this monkey-man what he wanted for b-fast.

he pointed to the cereal, then the milk.

"Ok Bub.. go get what cha need!"

He was quite proud of himself (& so was mama)

Though he puts one tiny piece in the bowl at a time,

We partied like rock stars & ate breakfast on the kitchen floor!

Well. That's a funny story...

Let's just say Jax got syrup & peanut butter in some pretty crazy places!

(including a bit in his left ear.)

(Note to self: have you (me) really not learned not to leave the room

(even if it is only for a 62 seconds)

Gosh. This boy's smile makes all the sticky messes just disappear.

I love the Curious George in you, my sweet little boy.

I can just hear all the thinking going on in that cute head!

The want you have to learn how every little thing works.

(Including the bathtub)

I still can't get over how lucky I am to hold this hand,

AND

to give that round belly kisses.

You make the simple every day things

pretty extraordinary.

Even when things get sticky,

& even if our house permanently smell like maple syrup!

Lol.
