Finagle a Foto #10~ {Inner Geek} & {Leading Lines}

Hello my friends
<<<WELCOME TO>>>
Happy Jax
 #10~ {Inner Geek} & {Leading Lines}
With special guest host,
Cheryl be picking our next top Finagler (aka winner),
& top photos per our {inner Geek} & {Leading Lines} Challenge.
Name- Cheryl
Bits about you / your blog-
Feminist. New Englander. Nature photographer. NASCAR/Jeff Gordon fan.
Quirky and unpredictable blogger. Writer of really bad haiku.
What’s Your favorite thing to shoot ?
Anything and everything that lives, grows, or moves outside.
If I had to name just one thing out there, it would be birds, especially those in flight.
What photography is/means to you ?
I'm introverted. I'm also terribly shy around people I don't know.
As small as a camera is compared to a human, you might be surprised at how easy it is to hide behind a camera.
I've used photography to record memories of my family, places I've visited, and the amazing sights I've seen.  These days, I'm more inclined to photograph the things that leave me in awe. Shooting using an extremely high pixel setting means I can enlarge an image to see all the intricate details of a feather, the eyes of a honey bee, or the lopsided grin of a child.
Your favorite shot you took (EVER!<--lol)
I've owned a camera since I was 9.
Choosing one out of the hundreds of thousands of photos I've taken isn't possible. My favorite photos were all taken when I used film and knew absolutely nothing about rules or techniques or photo editing software.

Here's a photo, titled "Willet Horking a Crab,"
that pretty much sums up who I am and why I love photography today.
(OMGoodness. How perfect is this shot?!!)
Photographers you look up to/ inspire you ?
Ruth Orkin and Henry David Thoreau.
Orkin was well-known for her celebrity photography but it's her spontaneous shots of people that inspires me. Thoreau used words to create photographs of the natural world he so revered. His wisdom has taught me to tread lightly ~ to only take photographs and leave only footprints.
What are you shooting w/ ?
Nikon D40X usually with the 55-200 mm lens attached.
Your future goals in your photography
I'm being pushed and pulled in several directions by well-meaning friends and family members to publish photo books, show my photos in a local gallery, photograph road racing (running), and sell my work online. I know my work is getting better and when it's good enough for me, I'll take that leap.
.................................................................................................................................................
It's SO lovely to meet you Cheryl!
I too have a little thing for Mr. Jeff Gordon.
(Though, I will always be a Dale Earnhardt fan though.)

Here's my takes on...
**{Inner Geek}**
There really is no such thing as my "inner" geek... it all shows!
The lovely thing about it all is... I'm proud of my "geeky side, & I am SO ok w/ it.
P/S it made my day when my honey said I looked HOT in my new glasses!
(Thanks babe. Right back at chA)
