All in one little red book

My favorite book

I've been a little sad lately,
Missing precious souls that made my life so complete in years past.
Aka, my Grandparents.
It's a bit strange because they passed away years ago.

A few days ago Jax climbed on the kitchen counter & grabbed this OLD red cook book.
My grandma Darlene's Better Homes & Gardens "New" cook book.
New in 1976!
She had this up in her cupboard years before I was born.
(eons really. Lol)
I have a million & one sweet memories of me sitting up on Grandmas counter,
sunshine shining through the window on my bare tootsies,
& just eating up my Grandmas love for cooking.

Then I had an aha moment.
This was exactly what I was doing right now.

My Jaxy sitting on the kitchen counter, holding the same ole book as my little hands did.
Making memories, & delicious food.

I know this is super cheesy, BUT...

It was almost like my Grandma was saying hello,
& that I still have that love right in front of me.
Just bigger & better.

We had us some good times making muffins that morning, let me tell ya!

hahaa... this boy likes him some milk!

OMGosh! I love those photos of him reading the cook book!
I never knew any of my grandparents, so I try to make sure my grandson and I do plenty together.

Thanks for linking up,
Lori

Very sweet photos. You make me feel like 100 years old. Waaaaay back in 1976?? Yikes. I was a newlywed in '76! Sweet of you to think of your grandma. Hoping my grands have sweet memories of me when they are grown.

Not cheesy at all. And, in fact, a really lovely A-ha moment you've shared with us all. :) Gotta love those moments, huh? I think your grandma Darlene was saying hello and reminding you of all the love still there between you, because nothing has been lost in that regard.

Beautiful sentiments to match beautiful photographs. Happy Friday and have a GREAT weekend. :) xo
